Cardi B Shines at LadyLand Festival Following “Am I The Drama?” Announcement

Cardi B has long been an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community and she received a warm welcome at the annual LadyLand Festival in Brooklyn on Friday, June 27. This year’s festival featured fantastic acts like COBRAH and Danny Tenaglia, culminating in Cardi’s headlining performance. This appearance comes right after the reveal of her eagerly awaited second album, “Am I The Drama?” set for release on September 19. Interestingly, the album title has ties to a memorable moment from Ru Paul’s Drag Race, as Scarlet Envy popularized the phrase during the sixth season of All Stars, making her the fitting choice to introduce Cardi at the festival. Scarlet enthusiastically said, “Happy Pride, New York City!” and continued, “I’m here every single year, it’s good to be on the stage this year, b***h. My name is Scarlet Envy: I’m the drama. I’m blessed to introduce this performer to you. She’s an icon, she a legend and she’s a hometown hero.” During her performance, Cardi dazzled the crowd with popular tracks, including “Outside,” and built excitement for her album. This was not only a moment of celebration for pride but also a nod to Scarlet Envy’s cultural impact. Additionally, updates about Cardi’s album have included her addressing fan criticism of the tracklist. Cardi stated on social media that old singles like “WAP” would appear and defended her choices by saying, “These motherf***ers are just going to have to be mad. My hit records need a home… My fans have been telling me to put ‘WAP’ and ‘Up’ on the album – and I’m gonna do this for my fans.” She emphasized that it’s Bardi Gang’s time to enjoy their music without backlash, stating, “Whatever they mad about tell them to go cry about it. Wah, wah, wah! Go f***ing cry about it. I love my fans… And whatever they want, they get.”
