The duo Clipse appeared in the mid-90s, but the Thornton brothers only became truly famous in the 2000s, largely thanks to their alliance with producer Pharrell Williams. He gave them a big boost, and in time Clipse became cult favorites for many.

In the early 2010s, the duo broke up as the brothers’ interests diverged: Pusha T dreamed of a solo career, while Malice turned to Christianity and no longer wanted to connect his work with street life and violence.

A full reunion of the brothers occurred in 2019 on Kanye West‘s album “Jesus Is King,” followed by several joint performances and rumors about new material.

Last year, Clipse officially announced that they were preparing to release the album “Let God Sort ‘Em Out,” their first duo release since 2009. After a series of delays, the long-awaited album has finally been released. The release includes 13 tracks, and features significant guests such as Nas, Kendrick Lamar, John Legend, Pharrell Williams, The-Dream, Stove God Cooks, Ab-Liva, and Tyler, The Creator. The entire album was produced by Pharrell.

The title “Let God Sort ‘Em Out” is part of a well-known Latin phrase “Caedite eos. Novit enim Dominus qui sunt eius,” reportedly spoken by crusaders in the 13th century. It translates as “Kill them all, God will know His own.”
